Not for Opium Production

Opium poppy plants grow throughout the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world. They are featured in numerous gardening magazines, dried flower shops, and floral wholesalers. The dried seed pods are a wonderful addition to your dried flower arrangements. The seeds are used in the United States and especially Eastern Europe for culinary purposes (cooking), mostly for breads, bagels and rolls. There is no opium in the seeds themselves.

Even though possession of poppy seeds appears to be legal in the United States, it is illegal to produce opium, and it may even be illegal to grow poppy plants in your area. Purchasers/recipients agree to use seeds purchased/obtained from optimumpoppyseeds.com in accordance with agricultural and governmental laws. Although planting and growing opium poppy seeds may be illegal in some areas, it is still completely legal to purchase our seeds. But, to be safe, please consult your local authorities or a legal expert.

Our seeds are untreated and totally viable (with excellent sprouting and growing). We do not advocate growing and/or consumption of the poppy plant. Poppies are listed as a poisonous plant. Extracting opium from the unripe seed pod is illegal, and should not be grown for that purpose.

We do not recommend or authorize any illegal use of our seeds.

We accept no liability for misuse and/or prohibited use of our products. The customer accepts all responsibilities for any matter arising directly or indirectly from the purchased product.

Ordering from optimumpoppyseeds.com constitutes agreement with and acceptance of these terms and conditions, and releases optimumpoppyseeds.com from any and all liability. We reserve the right to change the above policies without notice.

These flowers are NOT intended for opium production.

Harvesting raw opium is ILLEGAL in the United States.
